Dominic Ford

Co-Managing Director
A management career spanning over twenty five years, in the Wine, Restaurant, Hotel and Food Retail trades. He has a huge depth of experience in all aspects of the industry. He has worked all over the world and developed successful operations in the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, and the Middle East.

Dominic started his Food and Beverage career twenty six years ago in the London Wine Trade. After working in the USA for a short period he returned to London to work at L’Escargot and Hilaire Restaurants in Management positions before heading to the Far East. In Hong Kong Dominic held the position of Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at the award winning Mandarin Oriental Hotel and was jointly responsible for fourteen restaurant operations and 500 staff.


It was in Hong Kong in 1991 that Dickson Poon, Chairman of Dickson Concepts International, approached Dominic to become the Restaurants and Food Retail Director of his newly-acquired Harvey Nichols and Company Limited.

Dominic also has his own restaurant company, Ford Restaurants Limited, which owns and runs the following business. Menus and further information can be found on their respective web sites;

Patrick and Dominic jointly own:

  • Liberty Restaurants Limited which operate three outlets in the famous store in Regent Street, which they opened in 2007

From 1992 Dominic created from start up, and subsequently managed the Restaurant and Food Division of Harvey Nichols which included;

  • Fifth Floor Restaurant Bar and Café
  • Fifth Floor Foodmarket and Wine Shop
  • Oxo Tower Restaurant Bar and Brasserie
  • Fourth Floor Café and Espresso Bar in Leeds
  • Fourth Floor Foodmarket in Leeds
  • Prism Restaurant and Bar in The City of London
  • The Foodmarket in Birmingham
  • Forth Floor Restaurant Bar and Brasserie in Edinburgh
  • The Foodmarket in Edinburgh
  • Second Floor Restaurant Bar and Brasserie in Manchester
  • The Foodmarket in Manchester

Being responsible for the Restaurant and Food Retail Division of Harvey Nichols, he created a business with revenues in excess of £38,000,000 which generates substantial profit contribution to the group as a whole. The division employed some 650 staff.
